I met this old man around Dashaswamedh street, who was working as a laborer and selling some items of worship by just walking.
Before taking this picture I asked his permission for this portrait photograph. He allowed me to take his photograph and I experienced varying emotions while I capturing this image. His sculpted, ebony, and wrinkled face due to extreme sunburn displays deep emotions in his life story as how he has faced so many obstacles in his life to make ends meet. The gray hair and how it is hidden in his self-made turban in a simple way portrays the winding journey of his life. Possessing a deep set of almond-shaped, blue eyes narrates a sad life story and a strong character whom he is a fighter and a survivor. Coming to Kashi from Bihar, Mahendra arrived here with hope and has been working since his childhood. Presently he is back home in Bihar and does not live here anymore and is nowhere to be found in the ghats and alleys of Kashi.
